The Moro Islamic Liberation Front in the Philippines has handed over a first batch of weapons to the government as part of an ongoing peace plan.

The country’s president Benigno Aquino attended the handover in Mindanao.

As part of the deal 145 members of the group are to be given money in order to reintegrate into mainstream society.
