Germany: Bundesbank lifts 2015 GDP forecast


The Bundesbank has raised its GDP forecast for the German economy in 2015 to 1.7 percent.

That is a significant increase on its December prediction of 1 percent.

The Bundesbank has also boosted its forecast for 2016 – now predicting 1.8 percent GDP growth instead of 1.6 percent.

Analysts say Europe’s largest economy, benefitting from rising job creation, lower oil prices, and the effects across the eurozone of the European Central Bank stimulus programme.
