Xavi Hernandez failed to hold back the tears in an emotional farewell speech on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old, who was quick to praise all of those who have helped him along the way, will be looking to end his scintillating Barcelona career on a high by winning the Champions League for a fourth time in his last game after 17 seasons with the Blaugranas.

Xavi Hernandez: “Here I became a footballer, but a person as well. The titles and acknowledgements are nothing compared to the smiles and the friends I made.’‘

A win against Juventus on Saturday would be a fitting finale to an amazing career for Xavi, who has helped the Catalans win 23 major titles, including three Champions League and eight La Liga triumphs.
