Serbia’s Novak Djokovic produced a stunning performance to outclass Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals at Roland Garros on Wednesday.

The World number One prevailed 7-5 6-3 6-1 and will next take on Britain’s Andy Murray, who reached the last four of the French Open for a second consecutive time with a 7-6 6-2 5-7 6-1 win over World number 8 David Ferrer.

In the women’s event, America’s Serena Williams booked her place in the semi-finals with a convincing straight sets win over Sara Errani.

The top seed, bidding for her 20th Grand Slam title, dominated her opponent from the outset, en route to a 6-1 6-3 triumph in just over an hour.

Williams will next lock horns with Switzerland’s Timea Bacsinszky after the 25-year-old downed Alison van Uytvanck of Belgium 6-4 7-5.
