A stockpile of weapons has been found in a house in the French town of Biarritz during a joint operation by French police and the Spanish Civil Guard.

Spain’s interior ministry said the weapons were bought four years ago by the Basque separatist group ETA before it called a ceasefire.

The owner of the house, a French national, has been detained, accused of collaborating with ETA.
