Yannick Borel continued France’s dominance of the men’s epee discipline this season by winning the latest International Fencing Grand Prix in Rio De Janeiro.

Having overcome Radoslaw Zawritniak in the semi-finals the 2011 World and European team Champion came up against Max Heinzer.

Borel was is fine fettle in the showpiece match and led the Swiss from start to finish as he lunged his way to gold winning the duel 15-10.

France have now won six out of eight men’s epee gold medals in this year’s Grand Prix series.
