Chelsea have won the Premiere League title with four games in hand after beating Chrystal Palace at home.

The atmosphere at Stamford Bridge was electric as a single goal secured victory.

Just on the stroke of half time Eden Hazard surged into the area before tumbling theatrically under James McArthur’s challenge inside the box.

The Belgian then took the penalty which was saved by Crystal Palace keeper Julian Speroni but Hazard got his head to it for the goal.

This is Jose Mourinho’s third title as boss of Chelsea and comes five years after their last win.

The last victories for the Portuguese manager at Chelsea came during his last spell in charge during the 2004-05 and 2005-06 campaigns.

Amongst those celebrating in the stands was the Russian owner of the club Roman Abramovich who will feel vindicated for bringing back the divisive manager.

The fans seemed to agree as banners were draped from the Shed End at Stamford Bridge bearing slogans such as: “The Special One – He’s One Of Us.”
