A robbery at Ryanair. The Irish budget airline has confirmed around 5 million dollars – 4.6 million euros has been fraudulently taken from one of its bank accounts. It’s understood the theft took place sometime last week and that the funds have now been frozen.
“Ryanair confirms that it has investigated a fraudulent electronic transfer via a Chinese bank,” the company said in a statement and added steps have been taken to prevent this type of transfer happening again.
Ryanair uses dollars to buy fuel for its Boeing 737-800 planes. It’s believed it was these funds which were tapped in the illegal transfer.
