A teacher has died at a school in Spain after allegedly being attacked by a 13-year-old pupil armed with a crossbow and a knife.

Reports suggest the student first targeted a female teacher and her daughter at the Joan Fuster secondary school in Barcelona, shortly after lessons began on Monday morning.

The pupil is then said to have fatally wounded a male teacher from a neighbouring class who had intervened after he heard screaming.

Four people suffered slight injuries.

If confirmed as the attacker, the 13-year-old won’t face charges as he is below the age of criminal responsibility in Spain.
