Paris Saint Germain and Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been banned for four League One games following a foul-mouthed outburst about match officials last month.

The 33-year-old launched into an expletive-laden rant, that was captured on TV, after his side’s 3-2 defeat at Bordeaux on March 15.

He also swore when describing France but later apologised for his remarks.

There are only seven games left in the French topflight this season with league leaders PSG still in the hunt for a quadruple winning campaign, although Ibrahimovic is also suspended for their Champions League tie against Barcelona.

The Ligue 1 ban starts on Tuesday, therefore he is eligible to play in his club’s League Cup final against Bastia on Saturday at the Stade de France.
