For the first time since 1996 Tiger Woods has fallen outside of the top 100 in golf’s world rankings.

The 14-times major champion last featured on the PGA Tour at the Farmers Open in February.

He withdrew from that event due to back problems and has since been on a break from the game describing his performance as “unacceptable for tournament play”.

In January the American fired an 82 at the Phoenix Open – his worst round as a professional.

During his career Woods has spent a cumulative record 683 weeks as world number one, but is now 104th.

Woods hopes to rediscover his spark in time to play at next week’s US Masters – which he’s won four times but not since 2005.

In fact his last major title was the 2008 US Open.
