Premier League managers Steve Bruce and Gus Poyet had to be physically restrained during Tuesday’s 1-1 draw between Hull and Sunderland.

Former Lokomotiv Moscow striker Dame N’Doye opened the scoring for the hosts in the 15th minute before Poyet was sent to the stands after kicking his team’s water bucket in anger when Jack Rodwell was booked for diving in the second half.

As he walked off, he got into a verbal disagreement with Bruce and the pair had to be separated. With Poyet watching from the stands Sunderland then equalised through Rodwell with 13 minutes left.

The Football Association will wait on referee Mike Dean’s report before deciding whether to take action against the pair.
