Priceless works of art including a replica crown of the King of Siam have been stolen from a museum near Paris.

Fifteen items were snatched in just seven minutes from the Chinese rooms at Fontainebleau Castle.

The items had been assembled by Empress Eugenie, wife of French Emperor Napoleon III in 1863.

Castle president Jean-Francois Hebert said that some of the stolen objects were priceless, as they were one-off, original gifts to the imperial couple.
