Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu is reportedly set to be investigated over claims of fiscal fraud in the ongoing case surrounding the deal to bring in Neymar from Brazilian team Santos in the summer of 2013.

The club initially said it paid €57m euros for the 22-year-old with his parents receiving €45m of the fee. But investigators allege that the cost was more than was publicly declared at the time.

This season, Neymar, who is a key part of Barca’s strike force alongside former Ballon D’Or Lionel Messi and Uruguay international Luis Suárez, has scored 15 goals in 18 La Liga appearances.

Bartomeu is due to stand in court later this year in relation to the allegations
