Over two million cars in the US have been recalled over safety concerns with airbags.
It is not the first such recall and the latest move by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration – the NHTSA – comes amid fears the airbag in some older cars could be activated when it is not supposed to.
The companies whose vehicles are affected are Toyota, Fiat Chrysler and Honda Motors.
There have been around 400 reported cases of the bags activating inadvertently. The incidents have caused some minor injuries but no known deaths, the NHTSA said.
The car companies involved had issued three earlier recalls to fix other problems in the airbags.
