A week after the elections in Greece, the new government is trying to wriggle out of the clasp of austerity measures imposed on it by the Troika. Europe’s found it hard to keep a united front on sanctions on Russia – again, largely thanks to Greece that implies that Europe hurts itself more by it. We’ve talked to the Russian ambassador to the EU… And Europe is desperately trying to fortify itself against terrorism.
Hardly a week after the election of the new leftist government in Greece, Martin Schultz, the president of the European Parliament, and Jeroen Dijsselbloem, Head of the Eurogroupe, have already been there in the hope of bringing the government that defies austerity measures to the foil.
