Norway’s Kjetil Jansrud overcame poor weather conditions to clinch a shortened version of the classic men’s World Cup downhill on the Streif course in Kitzbuehel on Saturday.

The 29-year-old topped both training runs for the most prestigious race on the World Cup calendar before clocking 58.16 seconds to edge out nearest rival Dominik Paris by the narrowest of margins with Frenchman Guillermo Fayed completing the podium.

This result sees him become the second Norwegian after Lasse Kjus in 2004 to win in Kitzbuehel.
