Petra Kvitova tuned up nicely for next weeks Australian Open by winning the Sydney International on Friday.
The world No.4 and second seed was pushed all the way by fellow Czech Karolina Pliskova before prevailing in two tiebreak sets.
It was a tight affair at the Ken Rosewell Arena.
The first set went to a tiebreak which Kvitova squeezed through to win.
The second set followed a similar pattern but with the same result as Kivtova celebrated her first Sydney title.
With the win the two time Wimbledon champion sounded the warning bells to her rivals at the Australian Open which begins on Monday.
