Indonesian divers have retrieved the flight data recorder from the AirAsia airliner that crashed two weeks ago killing all 162 people on board

Indonesian divers have retrieved the flight data recorder from the AirAsia airliner that crashed two weeks ago killing all 162 people on board.

However the search goes on for the cockpit voice recorder.

The plane vanished from radar screenes over the northern Java Sea while en route from Surabaya to Singapore.

At the weekend search teams believed they had found the aircraft’s fuselage and that the two black boxes were likely to be nearby. However, strong winds have hampered efforts to reach the suspected wreckage.

So far 48 bodies have been retrieved from the Java Sea
