Beijing officials on Tuesday handed over their bid to stage the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Dozens of boxes containing Beijing’s financial and construction guarantees for the Games were handed over to the International Olympic Committee at its headquarters in Lausanne.
The event is guaranteed to be staged in Asia with Beijing and Kazakhstan’s Almaty the only candidates.
The European cities of Oslo, Krakow and Lviv all pulled out of the race due to increased public fears over the hosting costs.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will make a final decision on who will stage the 24th edition of the event in July.
