America’s Lindsey Vonn produced a stunning performance to secure her 61st World Cup win in the women’s downhill at Val d’Isere on Saturday.

Back in action two weeks ago in Lake Louise after a one-year break, the 30 year old’s stunning revival continued as she completed the course in a winning time of one minute 44.47 seconds.

Germany’s Viktoria Rebensburg and Austria’s Elisabeth Goergl shared second at 19 hundredths of a second behind while Swiss skier Lara Gut just missed out on a podium finish.

Slovenia’s Tina Maze endured a disappointing day as she finished half a second adrift in seventh. She still leads the overall standings with 596 points.
