Twenty-two year-old Rolene Strauss from South Africa has won this year’s Miss World title.

There were the usual tears of joy and surprise as the medical student beat 120 other women to the coveted crown at the final in London.

In second place was Miss Hungary and in third was Miss United States. It was the 64 annual Miss World competition.

Afterwards Strauss said she wanted to help spread education in her homeland and thus help others to realise their dreams.
