The Confederation of British Industry’s quarterly review spelled out good news for the UK services sector. It showed the sector, which forms the bulk of Britain’s economy grew steadily in the three months to November.
But the survey also reported companies are growing less optimistic about the outlook and showed expenditure on staff training is at its highest level in 15 years. Analysts believe that could reflect fear of a skills shortage in the future.
Britain’s economy looks set to slow in the fourth quarter for 2014 but the pace of growth is expected to remain robust.
