We spoke to Raouf Mazou, UNHCR representative in Kenya about the launch of a new education model for Kakuma refugee camp.

Kakuma, located in the northwest of Kenya, gives shelter to about 179,000 people, mostly fleeing from neighbouring countries like South Sudan and Somalia. A recent influx of 38,000 people has put a new strain on the area. In this interview, which was broadcast live from the World Innovation Summit for Education, Mazou explains how UNHCR and the Education Above All initiative, are implementing a new, integrated and adequately resourced education programme to improve the situation for children and women in the camp and the surrounding communities.
