Romanians protest over election hitches

Romanians have held rallies in support of compatriots living abroad who were unable to vote in the first round of the November 2 presidential election.

Expats were faced with long queues and insufficient ballot papers at embassies in several European capitals.

Prime Minister Viktor Ponta narrowly won the first round.

Analysts estimate there are up to four million Romanians living abroad and although only a fraction votes, those that do could influence the outcome of the second round on November 16.
