At the World Travel Market 2014 in London, the leading event for the global travel industry, euronews spoke to Akhtaruz Zaman Khan Kabir, Chief Executive Officer Bangladesh Tourism Board about his country, a still largely unknown destination in terms of tourism, as host nation for important international events, in English.
“Very recently, we just organized the ICC World Cricket in Dhaka a year ago, in our three major districts. We have a plan in our mind that we are going to organize a beach carnival, especially on the longest sea beach in the world, which is called Cox’s Bazar. We are going to organize an international event in the next year; we will organize a symposium workshop focusing on tourism. And you know, UNWTO are organizing a lot of workshops and symposia, so we will bring some of them to our country, to put the focus on Bangladesh as an international tourist destination.”
