Ukraine is preparing for parliamentary elections on Sunday.
They are the first to be held since former president Victor Yanukovich was ousted by street protests in February. Moscow denounced the overthrowal as a coup.
There are 450 seats in the parliament but the annexation of Crimea means 12 seats have been lost and fighting in the east will prevent another 14 constituencies from voting.eparatist action in the east will prevent polling in at least 14 voting districts there.
Whoever wins the elections faces enormous challenges, beginning with resolving the conflict in the east which has seen more than 3700 deaths and over 800,000 refugees.
Separatists plan to hold rival elections on 2 November.
