Argentina launches first satellite


It’s lift off for Argentina’s first communications satellite.

Launched from French Guyana, ARSAT-1, is the first domestically-built satellite in Latin America.

It took seven years to develop and cost around 200 million euros and will relay mobile and TV services to Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay for the next 15 years.
