With just a couple of months to go before the 30th edition of the African Cup of Nations, defending champions Nigeria have sacked their coach Stephen Keshi.
Keshi’s dismissal comes in the wake of a poor string of results for the Super Eagles.
They have won only two of their last 12 games and have failed to impress in their qualification campaign for the African Cup of Nations with two defeats, a draw and Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Sudan.
52-year-old Keshi took charge of Nigeria in 2012 and is only the second man to become African champion as both player and coach.
