Police in Italy and Switzerland have combined to recover stolen artworks worth around 15 million euros.
They included a Caravaggio school painting attributed to Batistello Caracciolo, a rare Roman sarcophagus and some 1,300 archaeological finds.
Some of the works had been stolen from churches and the investigations focused on a number of collectors.
