Roberto Di Matteo is the new coach of German Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04.
The Italian former Chelsea boss has agreed a deal to 2017.
Di Matteo has limited top flight managerial experience although he led the Blues to Champions League success only to be fired after only eight months in charge when the team’s form dipped.
Di Matteo has been tasked with giving Schalke some much needed consistency after a string of mixed performances has seen them notch up just two wins in ten competitive games.
He replaces Jens Keller, who was sacked earlier on Tuesday. He held the reins since December 2012.
