The EU targets Ireland over possible illegal tax boost for Apple

The European Commission has accused Ireland of giving multinational companies illegal state aid through tax arrangements.

The EU’s competition watchdog claims a few countries may have broken the rules while trying to attract investment and jobs. If found guilty some of the companies involved, such as Apple and Fiat, could have to pay back millions of euros in taxes.
