Lebanese designer Elie Saab showed his new collection in a tent set up in a park in central Paris.
His clothes have been worn by celebrities including Halle Berry, Julia Roberts and Jennifer Lopez.
His Dive into the Deep collection for next spring and summer was very fresh, and used lots of bright colours. He explained: “The colours are inspired by the depths of the sea. That’s why there is this blue, this green, this coral in the collection. I worked with the idea of a young girl in the 1970s. I combined long dresses with flat shoes.”
Elie Saab launched his ready-to-wear label in 1998 and has since become a mainstay of Paris fashion week.
Kenzo has also showed his collection, at a skate park in northern Paris. The graphic shapes, oriental yet abstract, merged east and west, as is now the common theme from the Kenzo designer duo, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon.
Christophe Guillarmé showed his new collection “Pop Sylphid” in a nightclub near the Bastille. The look was dazzling and ethereal with touches of Warhol and pop.
