Barcelona’s Luis Suarez has been given the green light to play in El Clasico against Real Madrid on October 25.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has said the Uruguayan forward’s sanction expires the day before the match at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“Therefore, Suarez would be able to make his official debut in the match against Real Madrid if that is what [coach] Luis Enrique decides,” the court said.
The CAS upheld Fifa’s decision last month to ban the player for four months and nine internationals after biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini during their World Cup fixture this summer.
Suarez was subsequently sold by Liverpool to Barcelona after the incident for 81 million euros (105 million US dollars).
