Baltimore Ravens star running back Ray Rice has been released by his team and indefinitely suspended by the National Football League following the release of a video that appears to show him assaulting his then-fiancee in an Atlantic City casino.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said: “Seeing the video this morning. We had a chance to get together with Steve (Ravens Owner Steve Bisciotti), Dick (Ravens president Dick Cass), Ozzie (Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome), myself and we had a meeting. It was not a long meeting. We came to the decision that we came to, to release Ray (Rice).”
Rice was suspended for two games in July for domestic violence when a first video from the February incident was released of him dragging his now wife Janay Palmer out of an elevator.
But after a second tape showing a full account of the incident, including him knocking her out with a single punch, Rice was cut loose from his team and the NFL.
