IMF releases fresh financial aid for Ukraine

The IMF has approved Ukraine’s next slice of a near-13 billion euro aid package.

Ukraine had asked the IMF to bundle the third and fourth installments for an immediate payout of 1.6 billion euros, as the two-year loan plan is looking too slow with the country under pressure on every front.

Prime Minister Yatsenyuk urged the IMF to respond favourably.

The IMF recently submitted a report expressing satisfaction with Ukraine’s meeting of all the loan conditions, which include financial and legal reforms, but only released the third slice, just over a billion euros.
