German Chancellor Angela Merkel began a two day visit to Spain by going for a walk with her host, Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.
The two leaders followed in the footsteps of thousands of pilgrims along a section of the historic Camino de Santiago route.
The two are set to hold talks on the the state of the Spanish economy and to discuss the formation of the new European Commission.
