Scores of participants in events marking the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Paris in World War Two wore authentic army uniforms and rode on period tanks on Sunday.
The French capital paid tribute to Resistance members who rose up against the German Occupation and to the allied forces who fought for their freedom.
Officially the Liberation of Paris started from August 19, 1944 – with the uprising of the French Resistance – to August 25 when the occupying German garrison surrendered.
