Pope Francis has greeted players and officials from the South American football team San Lorenzo. The pontiff has, according to reports been an avid follower of the club since his childhood in Argentina.
The meeting took place at the Pope’s weekly general audience at the Vatican.
The Buenos Aries side had conquered all before them last season. First there was the League title and that was followed by winning the Copa Libertadores – the South American equivalent of the Champions League.
