Slain Italian journalist flown home from Gaza

The body of Italian journalist Simone Camilli has been flown home after he was killed in Gaza.

Camilli’s long time partner Ylva Van de Berg together with Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini came to the airport to receive the coffin.

The 35-year-old AP reporter died when a suspected unexploded Israeli missile blew up as Palestinian officials worked to make it safe. He was on the scene reporting on the aftermath of the month-long war, hours before Israel and Hamas agreed to extend a temporary ceasefire for five days. His translator and three policemen also died in the blast.
