The 2014 Sziget Festival, one of the largest music and cultural events in Europe, is underway at “Old Buda Island” on the Danube in Budapest, Hungary.
Performers from all over the globe queue up to strum and strut.
As Sergey Shnurov from Russian group Leningrad confirms: “Sziget is really one of our favorite festivals, this is not the first time that we played here, and I hope it’s not the last.”
Fans travel to the festival to frolic and flirt in fancy dress.
An Italian male nun summed up the felling: “It is one of the most beautiful festivals, there is a lot of people here, many ladies, here is a beautiful lady, can I give you a kiss? … Come to Budapest, come to the Sziget festival!”
Euronews correspondent Andrea Hajagos and friends joined in the fun: “Although most of the performances get underway on Wednesday the party is already rocking.”
The Sziget Festival runs until Sunday.
