Bayern Munich meet rivals Borussia Dortmund in Wednesday’s German Super Cup and coach Pep Guardiola has a few injuries to his squad.
But Robert Lewandowski – reckoned to be the teams’ best player in pre-season, scoring an average of a goal a game – is fit and will face his former club for the first time.
Winger Franck Ribery remains a doubt while defender Rafinha is definitely out.
The injuries will not prompt any new signings, Guardiola told reporters ahead of the match.
Dortmund won the corresponding fixture last season and then finished behind Bayern in the Championship. They lost out on a second trophy to their rivals, beaten 2-0 in the final of the German domestic cup in May.
Much of the focus on the Dortmund team could fall on Ciro Immobile, the club’s most expensive summer signing. The Italian should start as striker for his new club in a game which is reckoned to be a good test of form ahead of the start of the new season.
