Spain’s La Liga champions Atletico Madrid have presented their new signing winger Antoine Griezmann.
The 23-year-old Frenchman joins from Real Sociedad for a reported 30-million euros and expectations are almost as high as his price tag.
Griezmann, who starred for France during the World Cup, has been brought to bolster Atletico’s attack and has been praised for his technique and accuracy in front of goal.
Hopes are also high among Juventus fans that Patrice Evra, another French World Cup star, can make a big difference.
The former Manchester United defender was unveiled by the Serie A champions on Thursday. He said he had to leave the Red Devils for personal reasons but failed to reveal exactly why.
And Spain striker David Villa has also been unveiled by his new club New York City FC.
Villa has signed a three-year deal with newly formed the Major League Soccer (MLS) team that is jointly owned by English Premier League club Manchester City and baseball’s New York Yankees.
Villa, who helped Atletico Madrid win last season’s Spanish league title, will join the new club starting the MLS in 2015.
