Algeria's Mbolhi moves to MLS Philadelphia

Algerian goalkeeper Rais Mbolhi has signed a three-year deal to join Major League Soccer club Philadelphia Union from Bulgaria’s CSKA Sofia.

The French-born Mbolhi impressed during the World Cup where Algeria reached the knock-out stages.

The African side were beaten 2-1 by Germany after extra time with Mbolhi, 28, named man of the match following a series of fine saves.

Philadelphia are currently seventh in the MLS’s Eastern Conference.
