100 years on, France remembers Socialist Jaures

The French president and German Vice-Chancellor have attended a ceremony in Paris to pay tribute to the founder of France’s Socialist Party.

Jean Jaures, one of France’s greatest political heroes, was assassinated by a nationalist gunman 100 years ago in July 1914 at the Café de Croissant in Paris.
