LA Lakers new signing Jeremy Lin underwent his first franchise duties this week when he helped lead a basketball training camp on a promotional tour of Taiwan.
Hundreds of fans turned out to see him teach the sport in the country where he is a household name.
He did have the time to talk about his arrival at his new club where he said he got a particularly warm welcome by the team’s star player Kobe Bryant.
He said: “Kobe (Bryant) specially came over to me and said hello. He then introduced his family members to me. He has always been good to me. I’m very much looking forward to be teammates with him. I think I can learn a lot from him.”
25-year-old Lin was traded to LA last Sunday.
He has played in the NBA for four years and with the Golden State Warriors, the new York Knicks and the Houston Rockets.
He holds a career average of 11.9 points.
