Newcastle have completed the signing of French striker Emmanuel Riviere from Monaco for an undisclosed fee
The 24-year-old, who scored 13 goals in 36 appearances last season and played with Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko during his time at Toulouse, becomes Alan Pardew’s fifth summer signing after a disappointing campaign which saw the Magpies finish 10th last season.
Riviere is the seventh Frenchman in the Newcastle squad, with compatriot Remy Cabella joining earlier this week from Montpellier.
