German international Toni Kroos arrived for his medical exam in Madrid on Thursday after signing a six-year deal to join Los Merengues from Bayern Munich.
The 24-year-old, who moved to the Bernabeu for a fee believed to be in the region of 25 million euros, was instrumental in Germany’s World Cup-winning campaign.
Kroos is Carlo Ancelotti’s first signing ahead of the new season with the European champions looking to keep pace with big-spending Barcelona, who recently signed Luis Suarez.
His arrival could lead to the departure of Germany team mate Sami Khedira, who has been linked with a move to England.
