The former president of Georgia and former Soviet foreign minister, Eduard Shevardnadze has been buried in Tbilisi.
The funeral of the 86-year-old who died last Monday after a a long illness was attended by close relatives as well as international delegates.
Shevardnadze was recognised as playing a vital role in ending the Cold War.
He went on to lead his native Georgia after independence before being ousted in street protests.Loved by some but hated by others in his home country he brought stability but failed to tackle widespread corruption.
