Estonian celebration gathers 8,500 performers
Estonia has celebrated its ‘Song and Dance Celebration’. The three day festival brings together around 8,500 performers and has been named one of UNESCO’s prized Intangible Cultural Heritage events.
The opening concert, which focused on traditional music and dancing, attracted over 80,000 visitors. The roots of this outdoor festival stretch back as far as 1869, the dawn of the Estonian national movement.
